Family Philippians Series

Description: Family Ministry is so important. As Children’s Pastors/leaders it is important that we put resources into the hands of parents so that they are able to do what they are called by God to do – disciple their children! This is a seven lesson series to assist parents through the book of Philippians with their families. This is for YOU: whether you’re a parent wanting to use this resource for your family discipleship time, or a church leader wanting to alter the material, record your own video (using the script), and send it out to your parents for their at home time. I created this resource for our church during COVID-19. We did a sermon series through Philippians and I paired these family connect Bible story videos/scripts for our online church service right before the sermon (to engage the kids in the message). The Family Connect Guides are for parents to use during the week with their kids to go deeper into the message . . . and to have some fun together! Feel free to use this in whatever way will bless you!

Overview: The sermon series we planned with the whole church we called “Unstuck”. As a leadership team we wanted to challenge people to consider their circumstances and to look to Christ in their lives. We wanted to look at Paul’s situation (writing to the Philippians while in jail), his call to fix our eyes on Jesus and the peace, joy, unity and mission that flowed from his words to the Philippians. This is a great reminder to all of us that Jesus is everything. When we feel stuck in life, we need to look up and focus on Him. He has so much more waiting for us!
