If I read the word of God and pursue scripture daily, I will be able to distinguish truth from lies. Not only that, but I will be equip to differentiate worldly ‘truth’ from godly truth. In Hebrews it says that the word of the Lord is sharper than the sharpest sword. What does the word cut into? The word cuts deeply into anything that I encounter that is not truth and it reveals it for what it is – lies. It is truth that I desire, for this truth is what sets me free! (John 8:32)
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edge sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Hebrews 4:12-13
