“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
Just as a single light in a dark room draws insects towards it, so the light of the Lord attracts us and draw us in. What is light? It is the complete opposite and absence of darkness, just as darkness is the absence of light. Light resides on one side of a spectrum, darkness on the other. The only other ‘medium’ that is between light and dark is ‘dim’. But ‘dim’ seems to contain more noticeable components of darkness and it is recognizable for its absence of brightness. In a ‘dim’ room, darkness overshadows the light. 1 John 1:5 says that in God, there is no darkness AT ALL. As a Christian, when I walk in the light of God, I am walking in His glory and in the fullness of His Spirit. There is no darkness, not even one bit, because if there was then I wouldn’t be in the light, but in the ‘dim’! I am walking in the light and I can see everything more clearly. Life is more beautiful when lived in the light. I am able to see my purpose, my eyes perceive goodness and I can see where I am headed – eternity with God.
“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, oh Lord.” Psalm 89:15
